Thanks for writing to us, Kina. Girls and women can have something called discharge that comes out of their vaginas. Usually discharge is normal for girls. Normal discharge is usually a clear or white color, and a little bit comes out of the vagina almost every day. You may see it in your panties or on the toilet paper when you wipe yourself after peeing. It can be watery or a little gooey (sticky). Sometimes discharge is a sign that a girl has an infection in her vagina. If a girl notices that her discharge changes: there’s a lot more of it, it changes color or consistency, it has a smell, her vagina feels itchy or irritated, or she is bleeding when it’s not time for her period, then she should make an appointment to see the gynecologist (her doctor, or her regular health care provider). If you don't have a place to go, you can call CHOICE and a Counselor will help you find a health care provider.
